The Card Players is a series of oil paintings from the French Post Impressionist artist Paul Cezanne. Painted during Cezanne's final period in the early 1890s, there are five paintings in the series. The Card Players, painted between 1890 and 1892, is one of at least five variations of men playing cards in a cafe.
The world’s richest nation has purchased Cezanne’s The Card Players for more than $250 million in 2011, nearly doubling the previous auction record ($156 Million) for a work of art (1948).
